All notifications from GatherContent are sent via email. Emails are only sent as the result of a user action, such as notifying someone about a comment.
An email is sent to someone when you invite them into your account. They'll need to click on the link in the email, where they'll get the opportunity to set their password. When you assign someone to a project, this will also send them an email notifying this.
When you assign a user to an Item, they're sent an email to let them know that they've been assigned to that Item. This will also cause them to receive emails for any due dates that you set for this Item, as well as overdue notifications if a deadline is missed. These overdue notifications are sent 24 hours before and after a due date.
When you're assigned to an Item, you'll also be automatically looped into any status update and sent an email, although anyone can be deselected from this even if they're assigned to the Item. Simply click on the checked box next to their name in the status update box. You can also loop someone else into the status update who isn't assigned to the Item. This is useful if someone needs to be notified about one particular status.
You can also notify anyone who has access to an Item of a comment. This will send them an email letting them know that you commented on an Item, to which they can either reply directly to the email, or log in to GatherContent and leave their reply. All replies will be added to a thread for the comments.
Why haven't I received an email?
Some email systems can filter out emails. First check your junk or spam folder to ensure it hasn't been put there by mistake. If you still can't find it, let us know and we'll check our system where we can see if an email was rejected by an email system.
Can I customise email notifications?
At the moment, it's not possible to customise email notifications. You can add notes to any welcome email, and to any status update email that is sent.
